Grounded in Lived Experience
MFH is a community-led, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse individuals who face barriers to accessing help due to language, culture, and stigma.
How MFH Came to Be
Mates From Himalayas was created to support communities struggling in silence — breaking cultural, language, and stigma barriers so no one feels alone.
MFH grew out of conversations among people who deeply understood these challenges from their own lived experience. They saw community members who needed help but didn't know where to turn, or felt that the services available didn't truly understand them.
From these shared observations, a community-led, not-for-profit movement was born. Our foundation is grounded in lived experience, compassion, and trust — because we believe that the best support comes from people who truly understand the journey.
MFH founded from community conversations about unmet needs
First community program launched; 10+ partnerships established

Language Barriers
Many community members cannot access services because of language differences.
Cultural Gaps
Services that do not understand cultural context can feel distant and inaccessible.
Stigma
Cultural stigma around personal challenges prevents many from reaching out for help.
Lack of Awareness
Many individuals are unaware of what support is available and how to access it.
Bridging the Gap
Support systems exist, but they often feel distant or hard to access. We exist to bridge that gap.
Language barriers, cultural differences, and stigma around personal challenges make reaching out difficult. Too many individuals were left unsure where to turn — even when help was available.
MFH bridges this gap by providing culturally safe, community-led support that meets people where they are and speaks their language — both literally and culturally.
